Local homeowners are invited to attend a free Freeport Community Energy Forum on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, focused on practical home energy solutions that lower costs, improve comfort and strengthen household resilience.

Hosted in a partnership between FreeportCAN | Freeport Climate Action Now, passivhausMAINE, Balsam Realty and venue partner Freeport Community Services, the forum will bring together trusted local experts, nonprofits and homeowners to share real world insights on energy efficiency, electrification and renewable energy options for Maine homes.

The program will feature short panel discussions and opportunities to connect directly with local organizations at informational tables. Topics will include high efficiency heat pumps, solar power, backup and resilience technologies and available state incentives.

Panel presentations from Royal River Heat Pumps, Maine Solar Solutions, Efficiency Maine, retrofitMAINE, individual experts and homeowners with experience living with energy efficient technologies.

State Representative Melanie Sachs of Freeport will deliver the keynote address, providing an overview of state energy initiatives and relevant legislative efforts affecting Maine homeowners.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Freeport Community Services.

Many people want to take action on energy independence but feel overwhelmed by options and information.

This forum is designed to be practical, accessible and grounded in local experience so residents can make informed decisions that work for their homes and budgets.
